Do you really know Hong Kong? What is the Hong Kong Culture? How are Hong Kongers really like? Being born and raised here, living here for decades, it seems strange for us to not be able to articulate this well. Dream Impact’s partner – Kaifong Tour, a social enterprise that aims to bring community experience to their participants, provide community tour guide training and tour that aim to facilitate the connection between the community and people, with those who are in the community and those who wish to know more about the community.
Other than letting participants know more about the local community, Kaifong Tour hopes to be a platform to mobilize locals (‘Kai Fong’) and community enthusiasts to build a harmonious community. In other words, because they know more about the community through experiences and stories, they can connect and become part of the community and further develop local culture with all of those they have connected with through tours and deep understanding of the community.
Kaifong Tour spends a lot of their time training community tour guides, including areas such as leading skills of community tour, how to encourage dialogues and how to lead sharing sessions.
. Kaifong’s vision does not stop at tours, but to put forward many more projects to facilitate the development of communities in Hong Kong.
The Founder of Kaifong Tour, Luke, is a graduate from HKUST. He said with a smile that he wants to change the world through communities, “Kaifong Tour is the first step, gradually, step by step, we are able to change the world”. In fact, many Social enterprise shares similar enthusiasm hoping to do good for society and make Hong Kong a better place. Dream Impact gathers a group of purpose-driven social entrepreneurs who hope to build a better society.
