We do things differently at Dream Impact, and ESG Training is no exception.
At Dream Impact, wellness is at the core of any ESG strategy and action. As part of our 5th Anniversary milestone program Dream Waves of Impact, we organised an Experiential ESG Training Day, taking the conversation about ESG out from the cold conference room, to the beautiful nature of Kadoorie Farm & Botanic Garden, a place where we can holistically approach the many facets of our body, mind, spirit, society, and planet.
So, what have we learnt from the Experiential ESG Training Day?
It’s not just about planting trees. It’s about planting many different species of trees.
– Wander Meijer, Executive Director of Kadoorie Farm and Botanic Garden
The day started with a welcome note from Wander, the Executive Director of KFBG, who walked us through the journey KFBG went through to successfully build a biodiverse forest.
Kadoorie Farm & Botanic Garden was first established in 1956 with the aim to simply provide agricultural aid to farmers in need of support to help them lead independent lives. Today, KFBG’s work and influence spread far beyond the KFBG site. Through holistic education and nature conservation, they raise awareness of ecological and sustainability issues, undertake species conservation and ecosystem restoration in Hong Kong, mainland China, Cambodia and Laos, reconnect people with nature, and promote sustainable lifestyles.
With the soothing music playing in the background (proudly produced by Solar Sound System!), our workshops started!

Sustainable and renewable materials | Circular Economy
In a workshop hosted by Bamboo Generation, we learnt that bamboo is a highly sustainable materials. It can grow to full size in just 3-4 months, and requires no fertiliser. It even self-regenerate from its own roots! Together with Social S, bamboo is transformed to sports equipment, helping teams build rapport through gamified sports!
Kadoorie Farm & Botanic Garden also hosted a Circular Economy tour, introducing the organic resources recovery of the farm.
S for Social
Diversity, Equity and Inclusion
Hosted by Encompass HK, Let’s Talk ADHD and Institute of Leadership and Management, and Inclusive Impact, Happy Retired, and Center for Diversity & Inclusion Asia respectively, we learnt to build a diverse and inclusive workplace for people – and we didn’t mean just gender or culture of difference. We talked about sexuality, differently-abled, nerodiversipy, ethnic minorities, and of course, age.

B Corp Certification | ESG Team Culture
While there are many tools to develop successful ESG strategies and actions, on this very day, we introduced two very powerful tools: B Corp Certification and Building an ESG Team Culture.
A decade ago, ESG was about minimising risks and saving costs. But today, it has evolved to be about investing in growth, about sustainable development, and most importantly, about aligning your business profit with purpose. The B Impact Assessment is a powerful tool to help you understand the impact you are making as a business. Developing an ESG team culture will help you set sail. Workshops hosted by B Lab (HK & Macau) and Autopilot Leadership Lab.

A Grateful Note Before It Ends
As our Co-Founder and Director, Mr KK Tse shared, we are so very proud and grateful for all your trust and support. Building a community isn’t easy, and it is especially challenging in Hong Kong to gather socially-minded people like yourself to work towards a better society, and even planet.
“Dream big, you’re in America”, they say. Today I say, “Dream positive, you’re in Hong Kong.”
